(ARC Review)

Stars – 🫖🫖🫖🫖

Genre – YA Fantasy

Published – 20th October 2025

Length – 204 pages

Synopsis –

When four orphaned siblings arrive at a remote Scottish castle to live with a mysterious guardian, an ancient prophecy awakens. Sworn to an oath older than time, bound to the blood of kings, they are thrust into Liminalia: a hidden world of magik. To survive, they must awaken the magik buried deep within them. Not wandwork or spells, but memory, will, courage and the primal forces that shaped the worlds before time began.

But in a world of riddles, tricksters, lost kings and queens and dangerous destiny, the greatest threat may not be what hunts them… but what already lies within.

Thoughts –

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book written for young adults, and it did not disappoint. As soon as I began reading, I was transported into a world filled with magik and mystery. The story itself initially felt as though I had been transported to Narnia, however, it soon becomes apparent that this is a whole different tale.

I found the characters compelling and easy to like. You can really get a sense of the journey of discovery the four children embark on! Throughout the story, you see all four of them grow and begin to understand themselves and overcome the fears and demons that plague them. This growth is the true magik of the story and is a powerful message to all who decide to delve into this tale.

Realta has a true gift for building a world filled with magik and peril. The descriptions throughout the story are wonderful and help you truly see the world in your minds eye. I really hope I get to ARC review the second book in this series as I feel like it would be amazing to see more of Luminalia.
